Irish Love Poem by Margaret Widdemer (read by Tom O'Bedlam)

Came across this one by accident. Read by Tom O' Bedlam and can't say I'm familiar with the writer, though checking through wikipedia I see she was a Pulitzer Prize winner. An American poet and novelist she lived from 1884 to 1978. Will have to check the background on the above. Enjoy. With thanks to youtube and the share button and of course Tom.

Blade Runner - Tears In Rain - HD

Rutger Hauer starred in a great many films but his improvisation on the end script in this scene would take him into the cinema classics. What makes a film great is open to many interpretations, and all valid I'm sure but I would say character ranks highest and Roy Batty is there with the best. There are a number of different "cuts" out there and if you haven't seen it give yourself a treat. The original is set in a futuristic 2019 and I note from the comments on youtube the coincidence of 2019. With thanks to Allessandrus Cardoso who loaded and the share button on youtube. Rutger Hauer: January 23rd 1944 - July 19th 2019.

Donaghpatrick Church/Fund Raising Event!

Donaghpatrick Church/Fundraising Event ~ Teltown House!

A selection of some photos taken at Teltown House yesterday evening, at an event to raise funds for Donaghpatrick Church. Situated close to the Blackwater river between Navan and Kells in County Meath, the event passed off in glorious sunshine. The music was provided by Brendan Kelly and Michael Fahy with some poetry readings from members of The Meath Writers' Circle. MCd by Peadar Farrelly, there were prizes a plenty and a barbeque with refreshments to cater for all!

The Meath Writers' Circle/July 2019!

The Meath Writers' Circle/July 2019!

Carmel Murray and Sean Reilly
A small number showed up for our July meeting with some away on holidays, others on business, and others away. But, still managed to find our way through a few poems and stories and even a song or two. An event or two in the pipeline but no dates yet so that to come. The magazine is definitely closed for "further" submissions so if you haven't already sent something in it will have to wait until next year. Looks interesting but yet to pull it all together. Thanks to all who contributed.
