Patrick Kavanagh ~ Born 21st October 1904 - Died ~ 30th November 1967.
Here's a fine rendition of Kavanagh's Raglan Road. Most would go for Luke Kelly but Glen does a fine job here and worth a listen. I loaded this one some time back but tomorrow is the 30th of November so here goes. Great story about this and a true story. With thanks to youtube and the person who loaded!

Poetry Competitions ~ To end the year!
These competitions have a closing date that's fast approaching, so if you intend entering a poem or two you only have few days left to do it. Myself I might enter two of them. See how it goes! All worth a mention in. Strokestown and the Gregory O' Donoghue are two of the biggest in the country and the Doolin Festival is ... well if you haven't been! Links below.

Brendan Gleeson does a stirring version of this over on RTE. Played just before the match last night. But enough said. Sport is a funny thing and a touch here or a touch there and the result could have been different. But when it goes wrong out there and at that level its like war in the desert. With thanks to youtube and guy who loaded.

It includes contributions from a number of writing groups and poems by some of Ireland's best known writers. Refreshments will be served and hope to see you there!
