The Desmond O' Grady International Poetry Competition 2019!


The deadline for this on is the 16th of March and the prizewinner will be announced during April and will be invited to give a reading during the 2020 festival. The prizes are €200 for first place and with a runner up prize of €50. This competition was inaugurated in 2012 by the late Barney Sheehan of the White House Poetry Revival in honour of the Limerick poet Desmond O' Grady and was last held in 2014. The Limerick Writers are reviving the competition as part of their "April is Poetry Month" in 2019. You can enter both online and by post with postal entries sent to Limerick Writers' Centre, 12 Barrington St, Limerick, Ireland. Online to limerickwriterscentre@gmail.com .
